Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Knowledge Noodles (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the websites knowledge-noodles.com and knowledgenoodles.co.uk (the “site”). We are the data controller for personal information collected through the site. We are based in the United Kingdom and follow UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1. The short version
- You do not need an account to use our revision cards and quizzes, and we do not ask you to give us your name or email address to study.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- If you contact us, we use your details only to reply to you.
- If we show adverts or measure how the site is used, this is done with cookies and similar technologies, only with your consent where the law requires it. See our Cookie policy.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you email us or message us on social media, we receive your name or username, email address and whatever you tell us in your message.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may receive your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location (such as town or country), referring website and the date and time of your visit. If you agree to advertising cookies, Google and its advertising partners may also receive this information.
- Quiz and card activity. Your answers and quiz scores are worked out in your browser. We do not receive or store them on our servers.
3. How and why we use your information
- To run and secure the site, including fixing faults and preventing misuse (legitimate interests).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it (consent, where analytics cookies are used).
- To show adverts that help us keep the site free (consent, where advertising cookies are used).
- To reply to your questions, feedback or requests (legitimate interests, or to take steps you have asked for).
- To send marketing emails, if we ever offer them. We will only do this if you have opted in, and every message will include a way to unsubscribe (consent).
4. Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes set out in our Cookie policy. You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time, and you can also use your browser settings to block cookies.
Advertising. We show, or may show, adverts served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve adverts based on a person’s previous visits to this site or to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Google and its partners may also use web beacons or your IP address to collect information as a result of serving adverts on this site.
These cookies are used only if you agree to them using the cookie message on the site. You do not have to agree to advertising cookies to use the site.
Opting out. You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. Alternatively, you can opt out of some other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting https://www.aboutads.info/choices/.
To find out more about how Google uses cookies in advertising, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/types. Google also publishes information about vendors certified to serve third-party adverts at https://support.google.com/dfp_premium/answer/94149.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only where needed and never to sell it. Recipients may include: our website hosting and security providers; analytics providers; Google (through Google AdSense) and its advertising partners and ad networks (through cookies, as described above); our professional advisers; and authorities where we are legally required to. These providers act on our instructions or under their own privacy policies, which you can read on their websites.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred abroad, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep information
- Emails and messages: normally up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless we need them for longer to resolve a matter.
- Cookie and analytics data: for the periods listed in our Cookie policy.
We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be told how your information is used; access a copy of it; have inaccurate information corrected; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict or stop using it; object to use based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect anything done before you withdrew). To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.
9. Children
Our revision resources are written for students, and many of our visitors are under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and do not need any to use the site. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or carer before contacting us. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it. Adverts shown on the site are not intended to be targeted at children, and where we can we will ask our advertising partners to restrict personalised adverts for younger users.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information, including secure (HTTPS) connections. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Links to other websites
The site links to other websites and social media platforms (such as Instagram and YouTube). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make important changes, we will make this clear on the site.
13. Contact and complaints
Questions about this policy or your information: [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
